Incentives

Increased and limited time incentives:

  • Complete two or more recommended upgrades and receive up to 100% back on the energy audit costs
  • For a limited time only, get increased incentives for LED lighting and heat pump upgrades, until March 31, 2022.
  • Get 25% back on non-electric upgrades. Until Dec 31, 2023, or when funds are depleted, the  Government of Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Fund provides 25% back on projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are capped at $1 Million per entity.

Upgrade incentives
Electricity saving upgrade projects Up to $100,000 ($30/GJ saved, based on the estimated annual energy savings, as determined by the energy audit.
LED light fixtures & heat pumps replacing electric baseboard heaters Up to $100,000 ($40/GJ saved, based on the estimated annual energy savings, as determined by the energy audit.
Non-electric fuels projects (propane, natural gas, oil, etc.) that reduce greenhouse gas emissions Up to $1 Million (25% of eligible project costs). Available until Dec. 31, 2023.

 

A gigajoule (GJ) is a metric term used for measuring energy use. For example, 1 GJ is equivalent to the amount of energy available from 277.8kWh of electricity.
