Enhanced Energy Savings Program

For households with incomes over $70,000

Registrations for an advance payment of up to $15,000 are now closed. Rebates of up to $2,000 are still available for mini-splits, air-sourced, geothermal, multi-zone and furnace add-on heat pumps.

Total Home Energy Savings Program

If you have enrolled prior to July 1, 2026, you still have time to complete your upgrade.

If you've received, are waiting for, or are in the process of securing quotes for an advance payment of up to $15,000, you have until March 31, 2027 to complete your upgrades and final energy evaluation. If this deadline is not met, any advance funding received must be repaid to NB Power.

To be eligible for an advance payment, all required paperwork must be submitted by October 1, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be eligible for advance funding.

What to do next to move your project forward:

  • Work with a qualified contractor to plan your upgrade
  • Request and submit quotes
  • Your advance payment will be issued once your file is approved
  • Complete your installation, including any additional upgrades identified in your energy evaluation (such as insulation, air sealing, windows, and more)
  • Have your contractor complete the required Attestation form
  • Keep all invoices and supporting documents
  • Complete all of your upgrades and final energy evaluation by March 31, 2027
  • Review full program requirements and guidelines

What the advance funding can cover:

Funding can be used for eligible upgrades, including:

  • Electrical and mechanical upgrades needed for a new electric heat pump system
  • Installation of ground loop piping for ground-source heat pumps
  • Safe removal of your oil tank
  • Installation of supplemental electric heating (if required)
  • Converting other oil-using systems, such as switching to an electric water heater (where applicable)

How funding works:

Advance funding is based on approved contractor quotes for eligible work:

  1.  If your project costs less than $15,000, you will receive the amount of your contractor quote
  2.  If your project costs more than $15,000, you are responsible for the difference
